ABOUT THE KERALA CLUB

      Rooted in the traditions of God’s own country and blended with the majesty of modernity, our club, located in the Manchester of South india – coimbatore, was founded by Late. Mr.Rao Bahadur A.V.Govinda Menon. His quest to quench the recreational thirst of the keralites and the natives of coimbatore made him incept this club more than 80 years ago in the present site on lease on 05.07.1954, which after 20 years was purchased.

The Club with registration number 1/1993 was formally inagurated in a rented building on 16.09.1932 by the late Rt.Hon.Sri M.Krishnan Nair. The blessed foundation stone of the club building was laid by the district judge Mr.Rao Bahadur A.V.Govinda Menon.

Sprawling 1.3 acres of land in the heart of the city with serene atmosphere, the club has more than 750 members including a strong Ladies Wing. Our club is having affiliation with more than 95 clubs all over india.

Among the bustle of the fast growing industrial city, the club stands as a monument of serenity bearing a celestial peace in its surroundings at the same time located in close quarters with the city’s bus station, railway station and easily accessible airport.

Our Club’s present membership of 630 is still growing, attracting people from all walks of life. It is one of the most reputed meeting points of people of the textile city. Vibrant with activities all round the year, the sophisticated and fully-equipped bar, the cards section, air-conditioned guest rooms, beautiful lawns, local and continental cuisine of our club create an enviable atmosphere for spending the family hours in the club’s premises. We also have a wooden shuttle court and a modern gym catering to the needs of our members. We have affiliations with more than 90 reputed clubs in almost all major cities in india.

One of the active parts of our club is the Ladies Wing with the strength of 120 members. They enliven the club with life every Monday with activities Promoting Art, Culture, Literatue, Recreation, Tambola, Cookery Demonstration, Seminars, Quiz and other intellectual Activities.

The Kerala club is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization. Our mission is practice and promote Indian culture and heritage.

Bound with unity of Thought, Ac and Vision, We the members of this club, work towards keeping up the Name, Fame and Decorum of this great club.
